Susan Powell missing six months

It has now been six months since Susan disappeared, and her family is still trying to cope with her absence. Everyone hopes she will walk back through the door soon, especially her husband and children.

In the meantime, the kids have been progressing rapidly, and Charlie has already learned how to read and write. He recently wrote a wonderful message for his mommy as seen in the photo. He has a mind like a steel trap and is becoming a little fountain of knowledge. Personal attention from each member of their family is really paying off for the boys, and Braden is already learning to read and write at an even younger age than Charlie did.

Family time continues to be an important priority and has become doubly important in the wake of this tragedy. Josh's and Susan's boys have been on many outings with their daddy. The boys are curious and inquisitive about everything they can get their hands on.

Maintaining the boys' emotional wellness is paramount, since they are the most deeply affected by these circumstances. Fortunately, many people in the neighborhood and elsewhere have been very friendly, and many of them have kids that the boys can laugh and play with. Charlie and Braden are both very social and make friends easily. They are very excited about life and all of the things that interest young boys.

Finding trustworthy spiritual support is more critical now than ever, since according to the media, members of the Mormon community had been pressuring Susan to divorce Josh on the basis of his beliefs. Josh and his family have recently enjoyed the fellowship of religious communities that share his and Susan's pro-family values. They have been investigating Christianity as an alternative to Mormonism. Vibrant faith communities in the local area have been very supportive and have been helping Josh and his family through the turmoil.

Family outings and activities have created a continuity for Josh and the boys at a time when everything else has been turned upside down. As anyone can see, the love and fun brings a deep sense of joy to the family, joy that they need and deserve in light of the difficulty of the ongoing tragedy. Hopefully soon they can again share that joy with Susan.
