Steven Koecher and Susan Powell
Source citations for Steven Koecher's timeline
All events related to Steven Koecher were accurately copied into the comparison timeline below from the Laytonian Timeline and KC Naegle's original timeline. Wherever their facts are unclear or conflicting, words such as "possible" or "estimated" are used to clearly distinguish between assumption versus fact. In the SusanPowell.org comparison timeline, published receipts and documented evidence are given more weight than eyewitness accounts. The SusanPowell.org comparison timeline also gives more weight to the earliest and original eyewitness accounts than to changing recollections.
Certain dates are being disputed by Steven Koecher supporters, however, it is irrefutable that Steven Koecher was in and around West Valley City, Utah during the week that both Susan Powell and Steven Koecher disappeared. West Valley City, Utah is contiguous to Salt Lake City, Utah where Koecher made several purchases with his debit card immediately following Susan Powell's disappearance.

When Steven Koecher initially arrives in West Valley City, Utah before leaving for Ruby Valley, Nevada, it is possible that Susan Powell pays for the gas to fill up Koecher's gas tank. 11:00a.m. MST |
Steven Koecher drives to Ruby Valley, Nevada after passing through West Valley
City, Utah. An eyewitness account at 11:00a.m. places Steven Koecher
in Ruby Valley, Nevada.
Koecher drives the 547 miles from St. George, Utah through West Valley City, Utah on his way to Ruby Valley, Nevada. Ostensibly Koecher makes the trip to "visit his ex-girlfriend, Annemarie." Annemarie's parents are surprised to see Koecher because Koecher already knows Annemarie doesn't live there. While at Annemarie's parents' home, Steven Koecher mentions "going to Sacramento [California] to visit family/friends." Adding to the intrigue of Koecher's behaviors, Koecher's sister later reports that Koecher has no family or friends in Sacramento, California. In Annemarie's parents' original eyewitness account, they said this visit occurred on December 8, 2009. Annemarie's parents later changed the date saying this may have occurred on December 9, 2009. The date was later changed again to December 10, 2009. These changes were reactions to new Steven Koecher sightings said to have occured during this week. These sightings supposedly place Koecher in St. George, Utah until December 9, 2009. Some people suspect that Koecher's Mormon friends attempted to quash early speculation connecting Steven Koecher to Susan Powell by "remembering" additional Koecher sightings in St. George, Utah throughout this week thus changing his timeline. The spectacle of an unmarried Mormon Priesthood leader and a married Mormon woman possibly being connected in their parallel disappearances does not fit the image that Mormons have for themselves. The date of this event was copied from Naegle's original timeline. In spite of disputes over the actual dates and times of Koecher's cell phone record, debit transactions and receipts, the evidence is clear that Koecher spent time in and around West Valley City, Utah during the six days between Susan Powell's disappearance and Koecher's own disappearance. |
The first news articles about Susan Powell as missing person are published in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. It will be several days before there is widespread coverage about Susan Powell as a missing person. | |

After Steven Koecher's visit to Annemarie's parents in Ruby Valley, Nevada,
Koecher uses his debit card to buy gas in West Wendover, Nevada. He is on his way
back to West Valley City, Utah at the time.
Pilot Travel Center
West Wendover, Nevada 2:15 p.m. MST (estimated*) $33.13 Source: debit transaction posted to bank account on December 10, 2009. As Koecher drives the 489 mile round trip between West Valley City, Utah (WVC) and Ruby Valley, Nevada, he stops in West Wendover, Nevada for gas on the way back to WVC. So far, he has driven 366 miles of his round trip and it takes $33.13 to fill his tank. This debit transaction posted on December 10, 2009 and Steven Koecher's other debit transactions have taken two business days to post. This would place Koecher in West Wendover, Nevada on December 8, 2009 as originally published and December 8, 2009 is also in agreement with the original eyewitness accounts. *Due to conflicts and related events in the Laytonian timeline, this time of 2:15 p.m. is estimated by the Powells based on the facts available. Most other dates and times are estimated by Laytonian based on transaction posting dates from Koecher's bank statements. The date of this transaction is so far the most disputed event in the Laytonian timeline. Since the Powells' disagree with Laytonian's logic for changing the original timeline, the Powells are including Laytonian's comments about this transaction:
"Miles driven so far: 429 (approx). $33.13 purchase at Pilot Travel Center (CC posted
to bank account on 12/10/2009, could not have occurred later)."
"Begin late Dec 9 or early Dec 10" "ETA 8:45am" So what does ETA mean? Laytonian uses Google maps to estimate Steven Koecher's time of arrival based on Steven Koecher's estimated driving time to and from proximal events. |

It is possible that Susan Powell is picked up by Steven Koecher any time between
December 7, 2009 when Susan Powell goes missing and December 10, 2009. Regardless
of which day Steven Koecher is actually in West Valley City, Utah, the
evidence shows that Steven Koecher is in and around West Valley City, Utah
during the week that both Susan Powell and Steven Koecher become missing persons.
It is possible that Susan Powell waits with a friend, in a motel, or in a vacant home until Steven Koecher arrives. Susan Powell is a former real estate agent. Since 2004, both Susan and Josh Powell have had the key to all of the vacant HUD homes in Utah. |

Steven Koecher is in Las Vegas, Nevada where he answers a call on his cell phone
at 8:52 a.m. MST. Steven Koecher's cell phone hits the Pecos Tower in the northern
edge of the Las Vegas, Nevada metro area.
Greg Webb, Steven Koecher's Mormon Priesthood Elders Quorum President, calls Koecher on Koecher's cell phone. Greg Webb is in Las Vegas, Nevada so he asks Steven Koecher to cover for him at the Mormon Priesthood Executive Committee (PEC) meeting. Steven Koecher is Webb's Counselor in the Mormon Ward Elders Quorum Presidency. Steven Koecher tells Greg Webb that Koecher is in Las Vegas, Nevada, but according to Greg Webb, Koecher tells Webb he can attend the PEC meeting if needed. Greg Webb says don't bother because Webb is already en route so he'll cover the PEC meeting himself. Greg Webb misses the PEC meeting. In a blog post by Koecher's cousin KC Naegle three months later on March 4, 2010, Greg Webb explains his reason for being in Las Vegas, Nevada on the day Steven Koecher disappears from that area. Greg Webb says he "went to Las Vegas on the 11th and spent the weekend with friends in the Vegas area." Naegle's blog post comes after police and FBI inquiries (as requested by the Powells during the week of February 15, 2010) into a possible connection between Susan Powell and Steven Koecher's parallel disappearances. |

time, Koecher's cell phone hits the Cactus Tower at the southern edge of the Las
Vegas, Nevada metro area.
Seth Abboud, Koecher's Mormon Ward Clerk, calls Steven Koecher and asks him to make an announcement while officiating their Mormon Ward Priesthood Meeting. Although Steven Koecher is scheduled to officiate his 1:00 p.m. Mormon Ward Priesthood Meeting, he says he cannot because he is in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the opposite of what Steven Koecher told Greg Webb about two hours earlier. According to Webb, Koecher had indicated to Webb that Koecher could be returning to St. George, Utah and could cover his own Mormon Priesthood assignments that Koecher was responsible for. |

Steven Koecher Missing Person
Steven Koecher is caught on video when Steven Koecher walks away from his car "with a purpose" in Henderson, Nevada (a suburb of Las Vegas, Nevada). According to the Laytonian Timeline, "A home security system records Steven's 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier driving west on Savannah Springs Ave, in the Overlook Village area of Sun City Anthem. The car parks. This video continues to show the male figure walking away at noon." Steven Koecher's abscondence makes him the second person from Utah to go missing this week. |
