Brazil Steven Koecher served as a Mormon Missionary (Latter-Day-Saint, LDS Church) in Brazil (apparently near Teresina or Fortaleza). Steven Koecher would have learned Brazilian Portuguese on his mission. Susan Powell frequently said that she inherited her beautiful olive complexion from Portuguese ancestors. Susan often said she wants to learn to speak Portuguese.

Susan Powell is married, but according to Chuck Cox, Jennifer Graves and others, Susan was living a double life with secret plans to divorce her husband on their next wedding anniversary. According to "friends and family", Susan was being pressured to divorce her husband because Josh Powell was a "lukewarm Mormon". We believe Susan set this date in order to put off these "friends and family" so she could try to be happy in spite of monumental pressure from within herself and from others.
Mormon Religion (Latter-Day-Saint, LDS Church) According to Steven Koecher's friends, he was involved in the Mormon Church leading up to and during December 2009. Susan Powell usually maintains an outward commitment to the Mormon Church.
Supporters' Reactions Following speculation that Steven Koecher and Susan Powell may be connected in their parallel disappearances, Koecher supporters seem to be changing the Koecher story and timeline. This is apparently to distance Koecher from a possible connection to Susan Powell. There is a lot of overlap among supporters of Steven Koecher and Susan Powell since both were affiliated with the Mormon Church and both were residents and frequent visitors of the same areas in and around West Valley City, Utah. Susan Powell's supporters are spreading misinformation about Susan Powell, her husband (Josh Powell), and her parents (Chuck and Judy Cox). The Cox "Friends and Family" frequently contradict themselves in both blogs and media because they change their story regularly.
